(NORTHAMPTON, MA) - Monday was Senior Night in Northampton for the Blue Devils Softball Team. They hosted the Colts from Chicopee Comp HS. The two teams played last month in Chicopee, with Chicopee Comp winning that contest 15-2.
In the first inning, Chicopee Comp’s Olivia Vega hit an inside-the-park HR, with a runner on base. The Colts scored another run and led 3-0 early. In the bottom of the 1st, Chicopee Comp Pitcher Kayla Williams retired the first 3 batters: 2 strikeouts and one groundout to first base.

In the top of the third inning, the Colts were ahead 6-0. The bases were loaded. Northampton Pitcher Kaliya Valentin struck-out a Colts’ batter to get out of the inning and prevent anymore base runners from scoring.

Northampton held a ceremony for their Seniors in between the 3rd and 4th inning. The Blue Devils honored Sophia Band, Matea Hernandez, Kayla Martin and Kaliya Valentin.

In the 6th, the Colts manufactured 5 more runs. They led from the start to close.
For the second time this season, Chicopee Comp beat Northampton 15-2.
