(SOUTH END, SPRINGFIELD) - Paulo Freire hosted Mount Greylock at Scibelli Gym on Wednesday night for a PVIAC Class C semifinal game. Each team was one game away from a chance at a 🏆.

Paulo Freire got out to an early lead, 10-3. Mt. Greylock made a couple of baskets to narrow the score down to 10-8. That was as close as Mt. Greylock would be for the rest of the game.

Paulo Freire’s press gave Mt. Greylock problems all game. Mt. Greylock turned the ball over on multiple possessions. When they did beat the press, they had to rush their offense.

Paulo Freire led the entire game. They won, going away, 71-55.

Emmanuel Cruz scored a game-high 23 points. His jump-shot was “on” last night. He also continuously attacked the basket.

DJ Daniels scored 17 points; Bryan Jimenez scored 14 points.

Chase Doyle scored a team-high 13 points for Mt. Greylock.

Paulo Freire moves on to the Class C Championship Game against Drury. The game will be played on Saturday 2/26/22 at 4 PM, at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) in Norths Adams, MA (Berkshire County).
